Machine builders have been searching for ways to reduce the size of
control cabinets--or eliminate them altogether. Using machine-mounted
input/output modules is one way to go.
The X67 I/O system from B&R Automation offers IP67 environmental protection rating and freedom to use a variety of topologies. It is said to perform as fast as a centralized architecture. The system can span over 25 kilometers and up to 100 meters between modules. Users can set parameters for digital inputs and outputs locally and connect to all standard fieldbus networks.
