Weld-field immune proximity sensors

Print
FILED IN:  Control
The Factor 1 series of inductive proximity sensors has been expanded to include a weld field immune Factor 1+ version with extended sensing distances.

The sensors incorporate a multi coil design that enables them to sense all metals — both ferrous and non-ferrous — at the same distance without the need to derate the sensing distance based on target material. The sensors are designed for applications with high levels of magnetic interference from sources such as transformers, motors, drives, or welders. Features include greater switching distances for increased performance, few and simple adjustments for easy installation, reliability even with vibrating targets and housing, and sensor identification optimized to meet requirements in the automobile industry. A PTFE coating helps protect the sensor from weld slag and weld flash generated during the welding process.
