North American one-day training classes for 2008 concluded with a
PROFIBUS event in Indianapolis and a PROFINET event in Chicago.
This year saw over 2,100 registrants from 900 companies attend 24 separate classes in 23 cities (we came to Chicago twice). There were six PROFIBUS in the Process Industries classes; eight PROFIBUS classes; and 10 classes on PROFINET.

Certified engineer classes

The Certified Network Engineer classes concluded in November. In this hands-on multi-day training program, participants dive into the installation, operation and maintenance of PROFIBUS products and networks. Attendees passing the test receive an official PROFIBUS Certified Network Engineer Certificate. In 2008, we’ve added over 100 Certified PROFIBUS and PROFINET Engineers in North America.

Of course, these numbers for one-day training and Certified Network Engineer classes are just for events held in North America. There are 24 other PROFIBUS user group organizations around the world similar to the PTO, and they each run classes in their local geographic areas.
