Content Type The Genie-M640 is the first in the vendor’s line of gigabit Ethernet (GigE) digital cameras. The Genie-M640 uses a CCD, monochrome sensor with a resolution of 640x480.

Operating at a maximum of 60 frames per second, the Genie-M640 is designed to take full advantage of gigabit Ethernet technology, transmitting data over standard CAT-5e and CAT-6 cables to distances of up to 100m. Like all Genie cameras, the M640 is based on the pending Automated Imaging Association GigE Vision Standard to directly link the camera to a PC. “The GigE Vision Standard is something that will greatly simplify image acquisition for industrial and medical imaging applications,” says Philip Colet, vice president, sales and marketing, at the vendor.
