Content Type  The Freelance AC 700F process controller is designed to provide a powerful, scalable control option for smaller automation applications.
Compared to a full-size DCS solution providing more than what is needed, and a PLC not providing enough, these controllers provide superior functionality and ease of use, with the option to expand into a larger system, for roughly the same cost as a traditional PLC, says the vendor. The compact DCS system acts as a hybrid control solution for smaller-sized applications. Unlike conventional PLC systems, the AC 700F offers all of the benefits of the tools integrated in the Freelance system, such as Control Builder F engineering, DigiVis, pre-engineered visualization components such as faceplates, module diagnosis, extended troubleshooting capabilities, ready-made system communication, event list, alarm line, trend displays or automatically generated sequence diagrams. These components can be used straight out of the box, eliminating the manual configuration that is required when using traditional PLCs.
