Two new, high flow capacity Micro Motion ELITE Coriolis flowmeters are targeted for fiscal custody transfer applications, expanding the application range of Micro Motion ELITE meters.
The Micro Motion ELITE High Capacity Coriolis meter has been tested with crude oil and other liquid and gas hydrocarbons in accordance with American Petroleum Institute (API) and American Gas Association (AGA) procedures. In addition, Emerson is pursuing approval for the Micro Motion ELITE High Capacity Coriolis meter based on the European Measuring Instrument Directive 2004/22/EC (MID) for gas meters (Annex MI-002) and liquids other than water (Annex MI-005) by the internationally respected Dutch metrology institute NMi.
Conventional meters, including pressure differential (PD) types or turbine meters, depend on rotating components, but Emerson’s Micro Motion Coriolis meters do not have these components. Thus, they are not subject to the wear or performance drift of a PD- or turbine-based meter.
Combined with its unmatched measurement and reliability performance, this Micro Motion meter is the largest ELITE Coriolis. As the price of crude oil, natural gas, ethylene and other hydrocarbons climb, users need to execute fiscal transfers with the highest possible precision and reliability.
Transfer systems for crude oil and hydrocarbons typically require a flow capable of handling large volumes of product flow in the shortest time possible. Emerson’s Micro Motion Coriolis technology is well established for applications requiring precision measurement performance and reliability with 0.10 percent mass and volume accuracy, and the highest turndown of any single flowmeter.
