Content Type The Cobra i-series robots are designed for entry level applications in which robots have historically been considered too costly and difficult to use, and which are currently using dedicated automation or manual labor.

The Cobra i-series robots are “the only self-contained SCARA robots in the world with the controller built into the robot arm,” says John Dulchinos, vice president of sales at the vendor. “This makes the robot easier to install and operate and gives it a much smaller footprint, ideal for basic automation tasks such as mechanical assembly, part transfer, material handling, packaging, palletizing, machine tending, screw driving and many other entry level applications.” The Cobra i600 and i800 robots can run completely standalone under the vendor’s MicroV+ operating system and programming language, without need for an external controller, electronics or breakout box. The robots can be controlled from commands from PC programs, digital I/O or a PLC.
