Industrial Video and Control (IVC): Leak Detection Camera

April 30, 2013
The FV-3532-01 thermal IP camera is optimized to detect hydrocarbon leaks.

The unit is designed to provide high quality thermal images to detect pipeline and tank leakages of a variety of hydrocarbon products including propane, gasoline, and diesel. Developed in collaboration with a major US oil company for use at their pipeline compressor stations, the camera can be programmed to monitor up to four detection zones. When it detects a leak, a contact closure results that can be used to send an alarm notification to the company's camera management software and/or the customer's control system. In addition to providing the initial notification of a leak, the camera can provide visual confirmation of alarms from other leak detection devices. The thermal imager is housed in a rugged enclosure making the camera suitable for use in a wide range of weather conditions. The unit can be utilized within a video security system or tightly integrated and operated through a user's SCADA system.
