Sensor Switch for Oil and Gas

Print
The FLT93 series FlexSwitch provides relief-valve monitoring and flare-gas flow or leakage detection for oil/gas upstream production or downstream refining, storage and distribution.

The FLT93 series FlexSwitch provides relief-valve monitoring and flare-gas flow or leakage detection for oil/gas upstream production or downstream refining, storage and distribution. It has a multi-parameter measurement design and is rated SIL2 and IP66 for NEMA Type 4X environments. Ex agency approvals are provided for the entire instrument—FM, FMc, ATEX and IECEx. The switch can be configured for flow or level sensing, flow-and-temperature sensing or level-and-temperature sensing. A single FLT simultaneously measures and monitors flow or level and temperature. Dual trip points and 6A relay outputs are standard and are assignable to flow, level or temperature. It is rated for a flow accuracy of ±2% of the setpoint velocity over ±50°F [±28°C] temperature range with repeatability of ±0.5% reading. Level resolution is ±0.1 inch [±2.5 mm] with repeatability of ±0.05 inch [±1.3 mm]. Standard temperature accuracy is ±2.0°F [±1°C] with repeatability ±1.0˚F [±0.6˚C]; improved temperature accuracy is available with factory calibration. FLT93 is also available in a high temperature (-100 to 850°F [-73 to 454°C]) configuration. Two standard sensing element configurations are available, both of which can be supplied in either standard (-40 to 350°F [-40 to 177°C]) or medium   (-100 to 500°F [-73 to 260°C]) temperature configurations. The electronic control circuit can be integrally mounted with the sensing element, or it can be located in a remote location.
