Today's utilities have a highly productive and efficient business environment that is very competitive and needs to comply with many stringent regulatory requirements to prevent situations that would cause a facility to be down for even a small amount of time. A slight failure of equipment translates into immediate consequences from both a financial and safety perspective. These pressures move utilities towards building high-availability smart sites that help minimize unscheduled down time and allow for shorter time to repair. Typically these sites are in remote, inaccessible locations where wireless communication is the only viable option to connect remote equipment with back-office enterprise IT systems. This webcast will discuss how wireless communication that uses cellular automation enables cost-effective monitoring and control of data at remote sites. Speaker Bio:

As Director of Product Management for Red Lion’s wireless products and solutions, Mahesh Patel is responsible for driving innovation and developing an extensive cellular IP-based wireless product portfolio.  In this role, he manages the overall strategy of the company’s wireless business unit, including the development of new products, market requirements and technical marketing materials, such as white papers, customer application stories and testimonials. Prior to this role, Patel was Director of Wireless Product Management for Sixnet, which was acquired by Red Lion in October 2011.

Patel holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology from DeVry Institute of Technology, a Master of Science in Computer Science degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology, and an MBA from DePaul University.
