PMMI Members’ and PACK EXPO Exhibitors’ Donations Support Needs of Hurricane Victims

Sept. 20, 2017
Bosch contribution pushes hurricane relief funds raised through www.pmmi.org/we-care to nearly $90,000. PMMI will match funds up to $100,000.

As the packaging and processing industry continues support for PMMI’s campaign for hurricane aid, the Bosch Community Fund raised the bar today, pledging $50,000 to relief efforts at www.pmmi.org/we-care. In addition to the donation link, funds raised through the annual PACK gives BACK event, featuring the legendary rock and roll band the Doobie Brothers, will also go to the American Red Cross to aid in relief efforts for victims of Hurricane Harvey and Irma in 2017.

“In light of the devastating effects of both hurricanes, our industry has opened their hearts and checkbooks to aid recovery in Houston and Florida. Since announcing this year’s proceeds will go to hurricane relief, ticket sales to PACK gives BACK have soared,” said Chuck Yuska, CEO, PMMI. “With such widespread damage, the need for donations is greater than ever. Our thoughts are with all those impacted by these deadly storms, including PMMI members, customers and their families.”

PMMI is proud to report donations of nearly $90,000 through its web link alone, with more coming in every day. But more is needed to support the efforts of the Red Cross in aiding the victims of these disasters. PMMI will have donation stations set up at PACK EXPO Las Vegas and Healthcare Packaging EXPO 2017 (Sept. 25-27, Las Vegas Convention Center) and will continue efforts to raise money via www.pmmi.org/we-care.

“We at Bosch are very supportive of efforts to help propel the recovery, following the extensive destruction of these two hurricanes,” said Mike Mansuetti, president of Robert Bosch LLC. “We are grateful to PMMI for matching donations, which allows Bosch’s contribution to go even further to assist the American Red Cross’s relief efforts.”

PACK gives BACK, an annual fundraising event, sponsored by Rockwell Automation, will take place Monday, Sept. 25 at 4 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom of the Las Vegas Convention Center. Tickets for PACK gives BACK are available online for registered PACK EXPO Las Vegas and Healthcare Packaging EXPO attendees and exhibitors at www.packexpolasvegas.com/pack-gives-back and cost $75 each (buy nine, and get the 10th ticket free). Get your tickets today and do your part to support the recovery effort.
