Omron six pack

Omron Electronics (, Schaumburg, Ill., introduced a half dozen more products to its stable of industrial automation solutions during recent briefing for trade press editors.

At the high end, the company rolled out a new top-of-the-line programmable logic controller, a duplex system known as the CS1D (see Product World, p. 57). A new advanced motion controller, the CS1W-MCH71 is likewise aimed at high-end applications, providing fast, accurate control of up to 30 physical axes of motion simultaneously.

The company also unveiled two new identification technology products. The V670 Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) system is aimed at high-speed production line control and data tracking.

It features “batteryless” ID tags that incorporate long-life, ferroelectric memory, enabling each tag to be accessed 1 billion times. Also new is the V530 2-D code reader, aimed primarily at reading pin-stamped codes used widely in the automotive industry. With dependable reads at up to 60 degrees, the system features the steepest camera angle on the market, Omron says.

Rounding out the new product line-up are two fiber-optic sensors, the E3X-MDA and the E3X-DAS. The E3X-MDA combines two amplifiers in one housing, saving space, wiring time and cost, while the E3X-DAS provides a single amp solution. Both units feature dual displays and a power tuning function that shifts power to the optimum level needed for any sensing condition.
