The SDLM-051-070-01-01 direct drive linear actuator with integrated position and temperature sensors is the latest addition to the patented series of zero backlash, zero cogging, high acceleration, high speed, high resolution actuators from Moticont.

The Compact SDLM-051-070-01-01 Direct Drive Linear Actuator with integrated position and temperature sensors is the latest addition to the patented series of zero backlash, zero cogging, high acceleration, high speed, high resolution, long life actuators from Moticont.  This direct drive linear Actuator, also referred to as an Electric Cylinder is 2.000 in. (50.9 mm) in diameter and the compact housing length is just 2.750 in (69.9 mm). The total length including the shaft is 4.000 in (101.6 mm).  The linear optical quadrature encoder is protected inside the actuator housing and directly connected to the shaft for the greatest possible accuracy.  Highest throughputs are achieved by the SDLM-051-070-01-01 linear actuator when operating at peak efficiency by monitoring the data from the internal temperature sensor.

The SDLM-051-070-01-01 Direct Drive Linear actuator has a stroke length of 0.500 in. (12.7 mm) and a continuous force rating of 7.6 lbs. (33.9 N) and peak force of 24.1 lbs. (107.2 N).  This non-commutated direct drive servo actuator features: Quiet long life, plain linear bearings, an integrated internal 1.25 micron resolution (0.000049 in.) quadrature optical encoder with differential outputs, and a non-rotating shaft.  Applications include: Manufacturing (assembly and inspection equipment), sorting and packaging, semiconductor handling, medical device, procedure tables and instruments, antenna positioning, dampers, door and valve actuators, agricultural equipment, shaking, and adjustable office furniture.

Direct coupling of the load or stage to the low inertia non-rotating shaft eliminates backlash and allows for high acceleration/deceleration.  Each end of the actuator housing has two 10-32 UNF-2B threaded mounting holes on a 1.000 in. (25.4 mm) bolt circle and the 0.250 in. (6.4 mm) shaft has a 6-32 UNC-2B  threaded hole on each end for easy integration into new and existing applications.  The SDLM-051-070-01-01 Direct Drive Linear Actuator is also available with a matching servo controller.
