Matrox Imaging to Showcase New Flowchart-based Vision Software at ATX Texas

April 23, 2014
Matrox Iris GT smart cameras and Matrox 4Sight GPm industrial computers with GigE cameras will run inspection projects developed using Matrox Design Assistant 4

At ATX Texas (Fort Worth, Texas, May 7-8), Matrox Imaging and Authorized Integrator Patti Engineering, Inc. will present the new release 4 of Matrox Design Assistant (DA), an integrated development environment (IDE) that lets users easily create an application flowchart and HMI, and take projects from concept to completion in record time without the need for conventional programming. The flowchart-based DA 4 vision software works not only with Matrox Iris GT smart cameras, but also any PC with GigE Vision® or USB3 Vision™ cameras. It gives vision integrators the flexibility to scale projects to different camera resolutions, processing speeds and cost targets, all within the same configuration software.

At booth 1543, visitors will see two demonstrations:
•An automated product identification/counting application running on a Matrox Iris GT smart camera will highlight the ease-of-use of DA, which lets manufacturing engineers and technicians quickly and easily set up machine vision applications with video capture, analysis, location, measurement, reading, verification, communication and I/O operations as well as a web-based operator interface within the single IDE.

•A Matrox 4Sight GPm industrial imaging computer with GigE cameras will be used to demonstrate a barcode reading project created with DA 4. Matrox 4Sight GPm boasts a fanless design that reduces maintenance costs and downtime by eliminating the need to clean or replace an air filter, or replace a worn out fan. The system is equipped with four Gigabit Ethernet and four SuperSpeed USB ports for connecting to the full range of available GigE Vision and USB3 Vision cameras. Gigabit Ethernet ports support Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) to streamline cabling.
