PACs Feature Dual CPUs

April 1, 2011
A new-generation Programmable Automation Controller (PAC) in the APAX-5000 series features an architecture that provides two stand-alone CPU modules working together.

One provides high computing power for HMI tasks (APAX-5570XPE or APAX-5571XPE) while the other is dedicated for SoftLogic (APAX-5520KW). This architecture is designed to ensure high reliability for critical control tasks on a single integrated platform. The APAX-5000 series includes controllers, couplers and I/O modules.
