End Alarm System Design Guesswork

Nov. 5, 2010
As an  alarm rationalization tool designed to take the guesswork out of alarm system design, SILAlarm supports compliance with the ISA18.2 alarm management standard and good engineering practices.
It guides users through the alarm rationalization process tailored to reflect the requirements of a company’s alarm philosophy document. It serves as the master alarm database, recording the results of the alarm design (priority, limit, deadband, classification and suppression) as well the cause, consequence, time to respond and recommended operator response. Alarm design details can be exported to automatically populate the control system configuration and to create operator alarm response procedures. SILAlarm can be used with new and existing systems and is available standalone as well as integrated with exSILentia, the vendor’s suite of functional safety engineering tools.exidawww.exida.com.215.453.1720
