These devices are based on an ARM7 SoC (System on Chip), featuring dual
10/100Mbps Ethernet ports, and one or two serial ports, which are
software configurable for RS-232, RS-422 or RS-485. The inherent
networking capabilities of Linux make these devices well-suited for
protocol conversion and store-and-forward data collection gateways, says
the vendor. The standard configuration includes 16MB of SDRAM, 8MB of
flash, and uClinux (an embedded Linux distribution) pre-installed.
Maximum power consumption is only 2.5W. They are UL Class 1, Division 2
(groups A, B, C, and D)-approved, and are included with a dedicated
RS-232 console port for direct access and debugging.Advantech Corp.
