    The Impact Software Suite of flexible machine vision software is now even easier to use and faster to deploy with the release of Impact 9.0, says the vendor.

    Noteworthy enhancements in Impact 9.0 include: a significant software redesign that delivers a more streamlined programming environment, expediting application set-up; a more intuitive user interface that shortens the learning curve for new users, while also benefiting experienced Impact customers; reorganized toolboxes that yield a more intuitive layout; faster file loading and file editing; an added OPC Server to provide a supplemental communication link to plant process-control systems; and compatibility with the Microsoft Windows 7 operating system.
