HMI Uses White LEDs

July 3, 2009
Billed as the first LED-backlit HMI, EZ Durapanel uses white LEDs in place of the current CCFL bulbs typically used.
These bulbs require a voltage boost of more than 1,000 volts and provide a limited life of 30,000 to 50,000 hours at 25°C, depending upon the manufacturer and the HMI model, says the vendor. With the cost of white LEDs steadily declining over the past few years, EZ Durapanel is the first HMI to harness this technology in the LCDs of HMIs, according to the vendor. With the use of white LEDs, EZ Durapanel is offered with a 100,000 LCD life and a four year warranty, and is also said to achieve a price breakthrough. For the first time, according the vendor, EZ Durapanel users can enjoy the benefits of an advanced 10.4-in. TFT costing less than $1000.EZAutomationwww.ezautomation.net877.774.3279
