Cellular Modem Boosts HMI Connectivity

June 1, 2009
The G3GSM cellular modem card allows the vendor’s G3 HMIs to communicate with operators via cellular technology, providing connectivity for remote and mobile applications.
The expansion card is easily configured with the vendor’s Crimson software, and uses a SIM card, allowing users to choose their own cellular provider. Capabilities include a built-in Web server that allows viewing of the same screens viewed on the G3, or viewing of data only or logged files; the ability to upload or download G3 databases without being on site; and a port-sharing feature that allows many PLCs and other attached devices to be remotely reprogrammed through the G3.Red Lion Controls Inc.www.redlion.net717.767.6511
