Bases Boost Linear Performance

Dec. 1, 2008
The HoneyComb Series of X-Y linear stepper positioning bases are built with a honeycomb-structured composite material that is said to reduce the cost of applying advanced linear motor technology to prices competitive with traditional solutions such as rotary motors and ballscrews or belts.
Available in a choice of seven standard sizes with square or rectangular working areas ranging from 375x375mm to 750x1500mm, they promise high levels of positioning performance. They support move speeds of up to 1.5 meters/second at resolutions to 2.5 microns and with a repeatability of better than 2 microns. They also offer friction-free mechanics with zero-backlash and no wind-up.Baldor Electric Co.www.baldor.com479.646.4711
