Process-to-Machine Safety Communication

May 6, 2008
The Simatic S7 F process safety engineering tool Version 6 offers certified safety communications between the vendor’s Simatic process safety CPU and machine safety CPU.
The tool provides new communication blocks that enable certified safety communications over Ethernet or Profibus and eliminates expensive and time-consuming hardwiring. The upgrade of the engineering tool also includes new driver blocks for increased Profisafe capabilities and compatibility with Profibus/Profisafe devices. The plug-and-play interfaces require no download drivers and provide enhanced diagnostics visualization.Siemens Energy & Automation Inc.www.sea.siemens.com800.964.4114
