Drive Adds Profibus Option

April 9, 2008
The vendor has added Profibus DP as the fourth communication option for its SMVector drive.

Joining DeviceNet, CANopen and ModBus/RS485, the Profibus option allows the drive to be compatible in almost any machine environment, and users can maintain their own communication preferences. The pop-in communication modules can be factory-installed or inserted into an already existing SMVector. The addition of the new communication option allows the mainstream process to talk to upstream as well as to downstream devices, improving message transmission and reducing physical installation requirements.
