Version 5.5 of the vendor’s Enterprise Cost Management software
platform is designed to provide real-time, predictive and precise
product cost assessments throughout the development and delivery
process.
As such, it empowers manufacturing organizations to significantly reduce cost of goods sold by identifying quantifiable savings in material, tooling, labor and overhead while evaluating alternative designs, processes and sources, says the vendor. The Enterprise Cost Management platform generates precise product cost assessments in real-time as a product is being developed. Direct integration to industry-standard CAD solutions allows the software to calculate product costs every time a designer makes a change to a model. The platform’s Virtual Production Environments capture the characteristics (processes, machines, cost structure) of a customer’s (and/or a supplier’s) factories to determine manufacturing or sourcing costs.
George Reed, with the help of Factory Technologies, was looking to further automate the processes at its quarries and make Ignition an organization-wide standard.
Goodnight Midstream chose Ignition because it could fulfill several requirements: data mining and business intelligence work on the system backend; powerful Linux-based edge deployments...
