Telemetry Solutions Break Ground

Nov. 11, 2007
The Kingfisher and T-Box product lines are said to be the first IP-based telemetry solutions that enable complete integration of SCADA, control and communications functionality in one rugged package.

These telemetry systems are designed to leverage easy-to-use Web technologies and inexpensive public networks. They offer up to 50 percent less total installed cost per point versus traditional SCADA/PLC systems, says the vendor, and permit greater organizational access to data through automated reporting and browser software. T-Box incorporates full Web server technology with SMS reporting and remote control to give real-time access anytime, anywhere through a standard Web browser. Operators can receive alarms and communicate with their sites remotely using a cell phone. Automatic alarm escalation allows key maintenance personnel to receive any unacknowledged alarms. The Kingfisher Series includes a broad range of RTU products, wireless remote I/O modules, OEM products, and software. Its Kingfisher Plus+ modular RTU line is the only system featuring redundant configurations, intelligent I/O, and an integrated ISaGRAF programming environment that is compliant with IEC 61131-3 and IEC 61499, according to the vendor.
