Cyber Security System Enhancements

Sept. 9, 2007
Enhanced features of Version 3.0 of Industrial Defender, a risk mitigation suite for the real-time process control and SCADA environments, include support for Cisco and Secure Computing firewalls, increased product scalability, and intrusion detection for power substations.
With the added Cisco and Secure Computing support, users can monitor and manage previously implemented firewalls, as well as newly installed Guard firewalls from the vendor, all from a single console. This eliminates the need to separate cyber security or control systems for each different brand of firewall installed on the system. V3.0 can now simultaneously monitor and manage up to 200 host systems and can also handle an increased number of alerts. V3.0 also introduces industrial signatures for the IEC 61850 protocol, an international standard for substation automation. By including these signatures in the vendor’s Network Intrusion Detection System (NIDS), the NIDS appliance can detect potential malicious activity, such as port scans or unauthorized commands to substation automation equipment that use this industry protocol.Industrial Defender Inc.www.industrialdefender.com508.337.0300
