Drives Feature Integrated Safety

May 9, 2007
The IndraDrive with Safety-On-Board features Safe Motion technology, a safety solution integrated directly in the drive that complies with the latest international standards for safe stopping and safe motion.
The IndraDrive with Safety-On-Board has reaction times up to 400 times faster than conventional solutions that use contactors to produce a safe stop, says the vendor. The system saves costs by eliminating hardware and wiring for additional I/O. Because the Safe Motion technology is integrated directly into the drive, motion controllers regardless of manufacturer are able to leverage the technology. Safe Motion technology is certified according to EN 954-1, Category 3. The IndraDrive with Safety-On-Board is designed in accordance with EN61508 and EN954-1 SIL3 standards.
