Amplifier Expands Servo Function

April 10, 2007
The vendor’s Sigma II Series servo system has been expanded with the Sigma FSP (Flexible Servo Pack) amplifier, which is  built on the Sigma II SGDH amplifier power platform.
This new amplifier provides built-in position control for simple indexing applications, electronic gearing, and cam profile following, in addition to the standard analog and pulse input of the Sigma II Series. The FSP positioning mode employs the vendor’s latest generation of real-time adaptive tuning, designed to dramatically reduce following error and settling time. The Sigma FSP is available in 110, 220, and 480VAC models ranging in power from 100 watts to 5kW and provides flexible position feedback.
