Linear Actuators Gain Encoders

March 13, 2007
Encoder feedback is now available on the vendor’s size 8 hybrid linear actuators.
The encoder module incorporates a lensed LED light source and monolithic photodetector array with signal-shaping electronics to produce the two-channel bounceless TTL outputs. The internal monolithic electronic module converts the real-time position, speed and direction into TTL compatible outputs. The encoder is offered in resolutions ranging from 120 to 330 cycles per revolution (CPR) or 480 to 1200 pulses per revolution (PPR).  The encoder operating temperatures are -10°C to 85°C. The compact optical incremental encoder design is available with two channel quadrature TTL squarewave outputs. The size 8 hybrid linear actuators are available in a variety of resolutions ranging from 0.00006-in. per step to 0.00157-in. per step and deliver thrusts of up to
10 lbs.
