Difficult Solids Level Measurement

March 13, 2007
The Sitrans LR 460 Radar Level transmitter is designed for measurements in difficult solids level applications.
Featuring 24 GHz FMCW (frequency-modulated continuous wave) technology and Process Intelligence echo processing, the Sitrans LR 460 instrument defines unparalleled performance on difficult solids level measurement applications, according to the vendor. Built on the Sitrans LR 400 platform, the Sitrans LR 460 transmitter is well-suited for solids applications containing extreme dust, high temperatures, and long ranges to 328 feet (100m). Virtually any solid medium can be measured, including cement powder, fly-ash, coal, gypsum, flour, grain, aggregates and plastics. With new Process Intelligence advanced echo-processing software and completely re-designed, high frequency/high gain circuitry, the Sitrans LR 460 unit is designed to reliably measure these difficult applications—without ever touching the material.
