Precise Laser Measuring System

July 1, 2006
The position of moving plant and machine parts can be measured with previously unattainable accuracy using the AMS 200 laser distance measuring device, says the vendor.

With the AMS 200 Absolute Measuring System, measured positions are reproduced with millimeter accuracy up to a range of 200 meters. Measuring accuracy is +/-3 millimeters at distances beyond 200 meters. By combining laser technology with modern signal processors, the AMS 200 delivers to the user an image of the actual values, which can be used for positioning in position control circuits. Interfaces for Profibus DP and SSI are accessible from the front, as is standardized M12 connection technology. An operating display on the front offers 100% transparency for current measuring values, set parameters or warning messages.
