Sensor Shape Eases Installation

March 1, 2006
The 166x series of MSS sensors for machine safety systems offers a new sensor shape designed for easier installation.

The 166x series provides three different cable outlets. In addition, the cable can also be hidden by being routed out from underneath the sensor. The coded magnetic system’s integration into a new housing opens additional installation options. The magnetic system consists of two components—the magnet housing and the magnet insert. The magnet insert is removable and can be reinserted with a 90-degree turn. That way, the magnet housing can be attached at a 90-degree angle from the sensor housing. The sensors are available in three versions with different types of contacts: with two normally open contacts, three normally open contacts and as a normally open/normally closed contact system.
