Fieldbus Interface Module

Oct. 1, 2005
The latest release of the Rosemount 3420 Fieldbus Interface Module (FIM) enables the installation of Foundation fieldbus devices with any host system.

This capability extends the benefits of the vendor’s PlantWeb digital architecture to existing plants. The 3240 FIM provides access to predictive diagnostic information from the field bus devices, enabling management and performance optimization within the AMS Suite: Intelligent Device Manager software. Process monitoring such as temperature and machinery monitoring, and many smaller discrete areas of process automation in a plant can be improved when automated with fieldbus devices through the 3420. The 3420 uses Web server technology to simplify commissioning, confirmation and maintenance tasks. The scaleable architecture provides up to four separate Foundation fieldbus segments, including power conditioners.
