Fiber Optic Safety Switches

June 1, 2005
The IP67-rated Pico-Guard SFI-M12SS Series fiber optic safety interlock switches are intended for use with the vendor’s Pico-Guard series controllers in personnel safety and equipment-protection applications.

These rugged, M12 barrel-style switches provide a compact, non-contact, easy-to-install means of interlocking doors, guards, gates and covers, says the vendor. Fibers are polyethylene jacketed with flouropolymer sheathing for applications that must withstand harsh chemicals and gases. The SFI-M12SS Series switches meet safety category 4 applications with one switch pair per guard.
