Ultrasonic Sensors

Nov. 1, 2004
Well-suited for use in many OEM and packaging applications, the Virtu and Virtu18 are low-cost, high performance ultrasonic sensors.

The Virtu features a dual-mount option and sensing range from 50mm (2 in.) to 510mm (20 in.). The Virtu18 provides the same technology, but in an 18mm barrel body style. With UL enclosure ratings of NEMA 4X and IP67, these CE-certified sensors are resistant to dust, 100 percent humidity, most acids and bases and high-pressure washdowns. The sensors are virtually impervious to the effects of splashing food, caustic cleaning solutions or changing light conditions, says the vendor. Shielding and filtering make the fully encapsulated sensor immune to radiated or conducted energy. Both products are available for $89.
