A line of ultrasonic sensors for factory and process automation applications is provided in two series. The UM 30 offers five sensing ranges, from 30mm to 6,000mm.
Objects can be detected, or their distance measured. The UM 30 automatically compensates for temperature fluctuations and is unaffected by steam, vapor, spray or dust-laden air. UM 30 sensors are available with one or two binary outputs (two outputs for linked switching points for min-max control of filling levels) and with an analog output for continuous detection tasks. The sender and receiver of the UM 18 are both housed in an 18mm threaded tube and are designed to be mounted 40mm apart, on each side of sheets of various materials, for the detection of single or multiple sheets. The UM 18 can detect film down to 0.4mm thick, paper of 1200 g/m2 or metal sheet of 0.3mm thickness.
George Reed, with the help of Factory Technologies, was looking to further automate the processes at its quarries and make Ignition an organization-wide standard.
Goodnight Midstream chose Ignition because it could fulfill several requirements: data mining and business intelligence work on the system backend; powerful Linux-based edge deployments...
