A new extension to the vendor’s Impact machine vision micro-system product line provides connectivity to digital cameras from all major camera suppliers.
The Impact CL extension relies on Camera Link, an open digital camera standard for industrial camera communications. “Previously, users of low-priced machine vision have been limited by systems that only support a few basic cameras,” says Joe Christenson, president at the vendor. “With Impact CL, vision systems users can leverage the Camera Link open standard, and now have the flexibility to choose from a broad range of camera formats, including linescan, color and high-resolution cameras.”
