PCs for harsh environments

July 16, 2012
Nematron’s new iPC-Series of Industrial Computers, now with Intel i-Series Core embedded processors, offer the latest in embedded processing power with the following Intel CPU options: i7 Dual Core, i5 Dual Core, and Dual Core Celeron P4500.

The iPC-Series computers include 12-in. (iPC1200), 15-in. (iPC1500), 17-in. (iPC1700), and 19-in. (iPC1900) LCD versions, with all-new LED backlighting. All are available with 5-wire Analog Resistive touchscreens and NEMA sealed panel mount front panels. Their ultra-thin size and very thin panel mounted depth of less than 3.2-in. (81.3mm) make them suitable for installation in harsh environments, especially hazardous locations. Each iPC-Series model utilizes the same chassis as the company’s previous ePC-Series, allowing for easy replacement and upgrading using the current footprint. The iPC-Series can also be ordered as a non-display node computer (nPC300) offering flexibility for mounting in space-constrained applications.

Additional upgrades from the previous ePC-Series include two more USB ports, upping the total available to six. Operating system options will be Windows XP Professional 32-bit, Windows 7 Professional 32-bit, and now Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, providing enhanced 64-bit application support. All iPC-Series units come standard with 2 GB DRAM, 40 GB SATA Solid State drives, and Powder Coated Aluminum front bezels.

All sizes and models of the iPC-Series and nPC300 have UL and cUL 508 as well as Class I Division 2, RoHS, and European CE approvals.
