Announced at the Automate 2011 trade show, the new release
introduces a set of tools to identify parts, products and items using
color, in addition to assessing quality from color and isolating
features using color.
The product offering includes a color matcher, which determines the best
matching color from a collection of samples for each region of interest
within an image. A color sample can also be specified interactively
from an image or through the use of numerical values. The color matching
method and the interpretation of color differences can be manually
adjusted for specific requirements.
The image-processing step provides capabilities to calculate the color
distance and perform color projection. This operation shows the extent
of color differences within and between images, while the projection enhances color to grayscale image conversion for analysis.
The software also introduces a Code Verifier step to grade
identification marks using ANSI/AIM and ISO/IEC standards. The official
release is scheduled for end of Q2 2011. Matrox Imagingwww.matrox.com
