New HMI for Rugged Environments

Jan. 31, 2011
With Beijer acquiring QSI in 2010, it seems they are looking to be more aggressive in the North American market, specifically, rugged HMIs.
With NEMA-4X/IP66 specifications, the new Qterm-A12 HMI operates in -30 to 70 °C (-22 to 158°F) environments and is UL 508 and UL Class I, Div. 2 certified pending. This HMI features a 12.1-in., 800 x 600 pixel TFT-LCD LED backlight display, resistive touchscreen, Ethernet 10/100 Base-T interface with two USB 2.0 host ports and two serial ports.  The product comes with a choice of iX software for automation control or Windows Embedded CE 6.0. The iX software includes drivers to communicate with automation equipment, scalable vector-based graphics and open architecture, such as .NET and C#. The Embedded CE 6.0 offers integration with existing systems and variety of programming and software options. This HMI is suited for demanding environments, such as oil rigs, marine vessels or the factory floor.
