New DC Gearmotors Eliminate Position Sensors

May 24, 2010
The new AUTONOmotor gearmotors employ DSP technology, generate power up to 1/6 hp and reduce wiring complexity.
These new gearmotors seek higher energy-efficiency and power density, and eliminate sensors to reduce cost and offer improved noise immunity for applications in foodservice, factory automation and packaging. The gearmotors employ DSP technology, which removes position sensors from the equation and its associated wiring required for conventional brushless DC motor-control systems. The series also provides eleven standard versions with gear ratios from 5:1 to 215.6:1 and rated output speeds from 470 to 11 RPM with a 10:1 speed range. Speed can be adjusted with either a supplied potentiometer or a 0-5V DC signal. Other features include continuous output torques ranging from 19 to 300 in-lbs, all-steel gearing and oil bath lubrication for optimum design lifetimes. Bison Gear & Engineering Corp.800.282.4766
