WCI Selects ISA100.11a Test Lab

July 5, 2010
The ISA100 Wireless Compliance Institute (WCI) announced on June 22 the selection of National Technical Systems Inc. (NTS, www.ntscorp.com) as its independent third-party lab to provide conformance testing for ISA100.11a certifications.
ISA100.11a is an industrial wireless networking standard developed by the International Society of Automation (ISA). NTS has headquarters in Calabasas, Calif., with multiple sites globally, and provides process and product compliance services, managed engineering services, design engineering services and program management support to companies and government organizations worldwide. The selection of NTS followed the June 16 announcement by WCI of the availability of its ISA100.11a Stack Conformance and Device Interoperability Test Kits designed to verify conformance to the ISA100.11a standard. Both kits verify the correct communication behavior of a wireless device as defined in the standard. Both kits also provide comprehensive packages and tools for troubleshooting, debugging and regression testing of ISA100.11a products.“Designed to help manufacturers develop products that conform to the ISA100.11a standard, the Wireless Test Kits provide manufacturers with a complete set of components to easily verify their products before submission for certification, and guarantee conformance with the ISA100.11a technical standard,” said  Andre Ristaino, managing director, ISA100 Wireless Compliance Institute. With the availabilty of the Test Kits, suppliers will be able to use the same test kits that NTS uses during certification testing. The WCI has scheduled a Webinar on July 20 at 11 a.m. Eastern time that will provide guidance to suppliers seeking to certify devices to the ISA100.11a standard.
