ISA/OMAC Deal Done

March 8, 2005
ISA Executive Board establishes new OMAC subsidiary.

The anticipated merger of the Open Modular Architecture Controls (OMAC) Users Group into the Instrumentation, Systems and Automation Society (ISA) has been completed. The ISA Executive Board announced recently that it has formally established a subsidiary organization as a new home for OMAC.

The ISA said the merger allows the two organizations to enhance their missions to facilitate the development and application of automation technology.

The OMAC board of directors will be working in the coming months to establish a strategic plan for the organization, including outlining plans for development of industry guidelines, a new membership structure, and meeting and training opportunities.
