Announcing the SeaRAQ family of I/O expansion boards designed for Relio R3 industrial computers. SeaRAQ boards interface to a variety of real-world I/O and all boards are isolated to prevent damage from harmful surges and ground loops often found in industrial environments. With available slots for adding up to 18 SeaRAQ modules, the Relio R3 is perfect for I/O intensive applications including process control, test and measurement, and data acquisition applications.
The first two SeaRAQ boards, the 8520 and 8521, are now available. Both boards provide Form A relay outputs rated for 5-250 VAC and 5-30 VDC loads up to 2A per relay. The 8520 offers 16 relay outputs organized as four relay banks with each bank sharing a common, while the 8521’s eight relay outputs have separate commons. Field wiring connects to the boards using 20-position, removable, high-retention Phoenix terminal blocks. The boards are powered from the Relio’s backplane connection and provide 1500 VAC field-to-logic isolation. Check out SeaRAQ products and configure your Relio R3 today.
Video Showcases Versatility of eI/O Ethernet Modules
eI/O modules provide system designers with a compact, low-cost alternative for monitoring and control and are ideal for a wide variety of applications including process control, facility management, security, and broadcast automation. Six different I/O models are currently available offering a choice of optically isolated inputs, Reed or Form C relay outputs, and analog inputs. All eI/O modules are available in Power over Ethernet (PoE 802.3af) versions to connect to existing PoE networks with power and data provided on one cable, or users can choose DC powered models with 9-30VDC input range. Ready for DIN rail mounting, eI/O modules include a removable plastic clip that snaps onto 35mm DIN rail. The clip can also be attached to any flat surface such as a wall or under a counter.
Tech Lowdown: Q: Can I power my Sealevel SeaI/O or Ethernet Serial Server from the CAT 5 cable using Power Over Ethernet (PoE)?
Yes, you can. In many industrial environments, a power connection may not be located in the area you need to install your I/O modules. Running power to the device may not be practical and attempting to run a longer power cable can create safety issues or unstable power due to current loss through the cable. For these applications, we offer a convenient Power Over Ethernet kit. The kit offers everything you need to supply data and 5V/12V power to an Ethernet device up to 100 meters away.
Relio R3 Solid-State 3U Expandable Rackmount Computers
The Relio R3 is a solid-state, fanless 3U rackmount computer for applications requiring high reliability, maximum I/O expansion and wide operating temperature range. Built on the advantages of COM Express architecture, the system is powered by an Intel Core i7, i3 or Atom dual core processor and offers an unprecedented 19 expansion slots for analog, digital and serial I/O.
PCI RS-232, RS-485 Serial Interface
The 7405 PCI serial interface provides four selectable RS-232 or two-wire RS-485 serial ports for demanding Point of Sale applications. Connect all of your Point of Sale devices via the onboard RJ45 modular connectors to simplify cabling requirements. The POS+4.PCI provides either fused +5V or +12V on pin 5 of the RJ45 connector suitable for powering a variety of POS peripherals including cash drawers and displays.
Low Profile PCI Express 8 Reed Relay Output / 8 Isolated Input Digital Interface
The 8012e Low Profile PCI Express digital interface provides eight optically isolated inputs and eight Reed relay outputs (SPST). The isolated inputs are non-polarized and rated for 3-30 VDC. Optical isolation protects the PC and other sensitive equipment from the voltage spikes and ground loop currents that are common to industrial environments. The Reed relays provide high quality, long-life, dry contact switch closures suitable for low-current applications. The relays are normally open and close when energized. The board is PCI Express X1 compliant and is compatible with any PCI Express slot.
