Providing safety and automation in one system, the fully encapsulated electronics modules can be installed directly on the machine and need minimal space, reducing cabling work and expense compared with cabinet-based systems. The IP67-rated modules are dust-tight and protected against temporary immersion, can be used at temperatures ranging from -30 to +60 °C, and are suitable for applications up to PL e. The controllers can be fully integrated into the company’s PSS 4000 automation system and are programmed in IEC 61131-3 languages using the same PAS4000 engineering software. The whole device configuration can be saved on a securely integrated microSD card, and Web-based visualization is available with PASvisu software. Other features include a SafetyNET p connection and 16 safe digital inputs using the company’s compact PSS67 IO1 16 FDI I/O modules.
