Water Treatment: Utility Increases Capacity

April 27, 2011
Utilities Kingston, an asset management company, is striving for Kingston, New York, to become one of the most "sustainable" cities in the country. Utilities Kingston manages the Ravenswood Water Treatment Plant in Ontario and recently installed a new process automation system. The plant takes waste and converts it into three beneficial products: clean water, methane gas for power generation and bio-solids for land applications. The new process system has increased plant capacity by 30 percent, while decreasing environmental impact, energy consumption, and improving air and water quality at the plant, Utilities Kingston adds.
