To push line scan capabilities to a new level, Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) and line scan cameras have recently built a successful alliance. Despite this, a majority of applications on a unit-wide basis are still running older 1k and 2k line scan cameras. The line scan market has been and is now driven by extreme price pressure on these older cameras.
