A new line of rotary inductive analog sensors provides 360-degree angular measurement.

By using resistance inductive capacitance (RLC) measuring technology, rather than a traditional magnetic positioning element, the sensors deliver complete immunity to EMC interference, says the vendor. The rotary inductive sensors are IP67 rated, with a temperature range of -40°C to 70°C, suiting them well for measuring the angle of solar panels, wind turbine blade position, crane position and other outdoor applications. The sensor and its positioning element are designed as separate pieces, allowing the positioning element to be mounted in a variety of ways—including directly onto a rotating shaft—without experiencing the wear common to these types of sensors.
