Fast Rotational Speed Detection

April 6, 2010
With a maximum switching frequency of 20kHz, magnetic Hall Sensors are said to perform up to five times faster than inductive sensors, and are designed for detecting moving ferromagnetic objects such as toothed wheels, gears or racks.
These high-resolution sensors feature IP68-rated housings to allow reliable operation in harsh environments exposed to vibration, shock and contaminants such as dust and oil. As Hall sensors contain no moving parts and experience little wear, they can replace incremental encoders for detecting rotational speed or direction. These sensors withstand temperatures ranging from -40°C to +120°C and offer an operating voltage range from 8VDC to 28VDC.Baumerwww.baumer.com800.937.9336
