MDrive integrated motor products are now available for EtherNet/IP systems, reportedly delivering benefits to manufacturing automation, including low cost, compact size, and high reliability with minimal signal degradation over long distances.
These motion systems feature integrated motor, drive and programmable controller, with a standardized IP addressing system. They allow up to 254 nodes on a network while eliminating the wiring and programming of traditional multi-drop systems with RS-422/485 communications. Standard RJ45 connectors and CAT5/6 cabling simplify physical connectivity. The systems communicate via TCP or UDP interchangeably. Hybrid Motion Technology—a hardware-based system combining the benefits of servo and stepper motors, is also available.
